The quick cup no. 13 has ended and I've prepared a little summary for you. Black horses of the tourney were teams sucker & noname ( noctis and spartie), core89 ( linkin and unity), fuck we're losing ( deus and 2gd) and WU ( krysa and jocko).

First rounds were going as expected, with all favorites advancing smoothly. First tough matchwas between sucker & noname and WU. Noctis and Spartie made that a one sided game and advanced further in the winner's bracket.On the other side of the bracket, team core89 met Fuck, we're losing. Core89 came up stronger in the end and ensured winner's bracket finals for themselves.

The second team heading to the finals was sucker & noname, who have just beaten team sr. Team sr didn't give up and was making its way through loser's bracket, destroying strong Bloodsucking Vampires duo in the process. Noctis and Spartie won the winner's bracket finals, sending core89 down to loser's.

Performance of team sr was going up for the whole tourney and the lb's finals only confirmed that. Zyvve domited and led his teammate to the win. It was team sr vs sucker and noname in the grand finals. The revenge was sweet, sucker and noname won only the first map and team sr became the quick cup 13 champions!

Congratulations to the winners and I'm looking forward to the next quick cups.

Since the basic groups are about to end, I decided to make an interview with those who advanced to play-off. I was asking these questions:

1) What do you think about the tourney so far? Are you satisfied with your performance?

2) Which game was the most difficult for you and how do you estimate your chances in the play-off?

3) Who do you tip to win the tourney?

1) I think that it's good tourney, wich pushing quake3 community to play or to watch the games.

2) Ye i'm pretty satisfied. All games were same for me, but most interesting was against prozac. I didnt estimate my chances in general, but i want top3.

Govorov "Killmaster" Sergei

1) I consider this beautiful tourney, 16 best players of the Europe, this interesting. But certainly this not fallow deer tournament, but internet, to account this many players suffer.

2) I have played with 3 adversaries, and has lost 2 cards Spart1e though could win 2:0. Probably play on dm6, this internet, and here a great deal solves the shooting.

3) I saw the vapour(pair) of the plays other player, and can say that all rather good. Beside all not bad shooting, + certainly xerp 1. But I belive on itself and on my friend, Question'a :) though us will in a complicated way play against european inet)

1)I think it`s best online Q3 1x1 tourney this years! All QQC stuff members making super work! After i so my group, i wanted and i thought i could pass a group. I did it, finished 1st in group and i`m happy! Played not my best, but nice games for spectators!

2) Most difficult game in groups was vs kirua , (zik stronger, but i was 100% in playoff) , i still remeber dm6 comback :}. In playoff I want to pass 1st round and be in top4, I can beat everyone execpt spartie :D I can do top2, but need play 90% of my best and +luck :)

3) Still bet on k1llsen, spartie have maybe same chance IMHO, others can take a tourney too, but russians have bad ping, others don`t practise.. worst chance have: me, zik , krysa :)

1) It's a great tourney and the scene still need more of this! Im satisfied with my perfomance up here.

2)Most difficult match... hm, there wassn't a really difficult game. The game v.s. Question was a bit crazy from me, i changed my mouse few days ago.

3) if my arms not poor falling down then i hope i'll win this tournament. But Cypher is candidate for the 1st place too.


Maciek "zik" Jakuć

1) I think the cup is going smoothly so far, gtv and live commentary are always there, no walkovers, so I dont see any negative aspects for now. As for my performance I not so happy about it, i think I can do better, but for this moment I'm concentrating more on my studies so theres not so much time to pracc.

2) I would say the most difficult games was vs Kirua, he suprised me with his style and was very hard to play against. I was really confused after the first map when i realised that my soundcard drivers were messed up and got back in the game on the next two maps.I think for this moment my chances to do well in playoffs are poor since I'm not playing much after the Polish ESWC quallies, now I need to focus on my exams. Still I will do my best!

3) I cheer for spartie to win! Still he will have a hard time with the east Europe players.


Sebastian "Spart1e" Siira

1) So far the tour has been really nice. I like shorter cups more, which i guess most people already know from my loss to Impulse. But I liked to read the comments from my k1llmaster game, and yes, im satisfied with my performance.

2) I wanna say my game vs k1llmaster was more difficult. I lost to impulse, but the k1llmaster game mattered more. I think my chances are good in the play-offs. Since it's an invitecup we will see alot of close games and the player with better form will win. But it's time for eswc swe soon, and hopefully i will get some time over to play the best game ever.

3) I know everyone plays and will be in good form. But I want the 100euro! THIS IS SPAAAAARTAAAA!!1

1) It's nice. Some good matches were played.

2) It was the game against Cypher, I didn't train so much and couldn't really concentrate.

Registration: Tonight 15.05 2008 at 20:00 the registration to Quake Quick Cup 13 was opened up. The registration process has changed, you can now sign in directly at the web page instead of irc or emails. To add a team, log in and create your team "by clicking here". The player who creates the team becomes a captain. If you want to join an existing team, you must send a request, which can be confirmed only by the team captain. You can also leave and join teams during registration.Theres a maximum of 32 teams and the registration ends at Sunday, 18.5. 2008.

Tourney system: The tourney will be played in CPMA/vq3 by the FDE system again. You can find the rules/info about maps and behaviour in the 'rules' section in the main menu.Three rounds will be played each day, therefore I ask you : do not sign in if you are not sure whether you will have the time to play or not. The tourney takes three days. The games must finish in time, so that no games would be postponed.I also remind you - all players must be at #quakequickcup to be able to adjust games with opponents. The prize is a secret for now, so hesistate no longer and sign in.

*update in rules: For faster tourney progress in 2v2 tournaments, losers bracket will be bo1. Each team will send its representative to a pummel fight (100/100), the winner (e.g. team1) begins the elimination in following order: team1, team2, team2, team1. Remaining map shall be played.Each team can have one substitute. Captains have to msg admin their sub (since you can't register him/her through the registration system) before the tournament starts. This player can't be a member of any other team.

Here's the euro league for invited players, as promised.Players were invited by the admin team, no more than two players for each country. Players were divided into 4 groups, the top two are advancing to play-off. Admin will set the date for each game. However, if either player could not compete at that time, he or she then contacts his or her opponent and arranges a new date for the match. All games will be broadcasted on GTV 147.32.30.24:27970. I hope you'll have fun. The lucky winner gets 100 Euros.

Quick cup no. 12 started at tuesday 19:00CET. Right from the beginning, the big names allowed no surprise and advanced as expected. Soon, the playoff picture formed with russian players being the majority. As the tourney got to playoff, the right fun began and we could see some really good games - you can find most of them in the demo section (including Spart1e - Maloy, which I liked the most). Everything was broadcasted by GTV-Krytie and again, there were over 200 spectators watching.
Final games between Guard and Maloy were quick and brutal. Guard was in the 2-0 lead ( thanks to advancing from the winner's bracket), but it was for no use. Maloy, playing the whole tourney in a great shape, just hammered his opponent 4-1, winning the Quick cup and, of course, taking the prize.
The prize will be sent on the last day of the month. I hope you had fun and enjoyed the tourney. Everything went smooth, except for the players that signed but never came. They recieved a yellow card for this (3 cards and you're off). Congratulations to the winner and see you in the next tourney.

Recently, there was a lot of flame about the command cg_xerpclients 1 on forums like ESReality. I would like to know your oppinion about this. CPMA gave us many good things like high pings friendly netcode, multiview, stats of all weapons and it would be a huge mistake to turn our backs on it. What I would like to know this simple fact, if it is ok to have better stats on ping 60 than on LAN. Personally, I believe that netcode of CPMA is good as it is without xerpclients. Arqon stated that this command works as intented and it remains in next CPMA version. I think that it would be fair to make it votable and server side modifiable ( f.e. /callvote allow xerpclients 1/0 ) and let players play however they like to in fun games and let tournament admins the possibility to force it off as a rule in tournaments. I'm looking forward to read your opinions and maybe I will spam promode forum about xerp more.

The final of losers bracket was a rematch for Stalker and Spartie. Stalker managed to beat his opponent yet again and fought his way to the grand final. The grand final was a real thrill. Since Stalker moved up from the losers bracket, he had to beat Cypher twice to grasp the victory in the tournament.Stalker proved himself to be no pencil sharpener beating Cypher 2:1 in the first game to equal the scores. Cypher was a better player in the second match winning 2:0 thus winning the whole tournament. Cypher receives not only fame points but also Icemat mouse pad from our sponsor. Congratulations. I can sincerely recommend downloading the demos, because there were some outstanding games going on. Moreover, I would like to thank all the players for taking part in this tournament and hope to see you soon in next Quick Cup, in which there will be mouse and headset as a main prize donated by our main sponsor Levi company.
